Utility crews were determining what triggered an explosion in downtown Los Angeles Sunday afternoon that left three manhole covers displaced.
Firefighters were dispatched to the 200 block of South Hill Street around noon and reported smoke emanating from below, said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
There were no reported power outages in the area and no injuries were reported, Stewart said.
