Mayor of Las Vegas, New Mexico, is charged with six felony bribery and abuse of power counts

Tonita Gurule-Giron allegedly steered contracts to Gemini Construction, a firm owned by a man prosecutors say is her boyfriend

This comes as Gurule-Giron is being investigated for bid-rigging, fraud and abuse of power

Investigators previously raided the mayor's home and City Hall

Gurule-Giron is scheduled for arraignment on January 6
