Comey inks multimillion-dollar book deal with Flatiron

Former FBI Director James Comey has reached a multimillion-dollar book deal with Flatiron Books to pen an as-of-yet unnamed book on leadership.

Comey, who was fired by President Donald Trump, led the FBI for more than three years and previously worked in the Justice Department and as a lawyer.

Flatiron publisher and President Bob Miller said in a statement that Comey faced many difficult decisions during his tenure serving the country and its leaders, and his book is expected to disclose some new anecdotes from his career.

“His book promises to take us inside those extraordinary moments in our history, showing us how these leaders have behaved under pressure,” Miller wrote. “By doing so, Director Comey will give us unprecedented entry into the corridors of power, and a remarkable lesson in leadership itself.”

Within the past year, Comey led the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails and testified before Congress about probes into Trump’s possible ties with Russia.

His book is set to be released in spring 2018, but due to Comey's previous FBI employment, his book must undergo prepublication review. The exact figure for his advance has not been disclosed.
