Quarks were the first matter to be below a proton and was made up of 3 quarks.

quarks flipped and flopped all the time by 'color'

back then they called the field color and not quarion or qwave they called it color and is a wave form that switches and flips and modifies quarks and changes the ones that are making the proton at the speed of light or faster.

In theory it takes a 'strange attractor' to create a locus for a proton or the quarks would not align in the required pattern to create a proton and sustain that cyclic energy for the time to stay a proton - strong attraction.
