Former Southern CalFag. I 15 and Hwy 78 in Escondido are both freeways. Escondido is North County San Diego (20-35 minutes to downtown with no traffic). It being freeway, the center is divided by a big ass dirt ditch with trees or shrubs and wire railing or straight up concrete barrier.
These are major thoroughfares. I 15 connects North County with Temecula and 78 gets you out to the coast in Oceanside. Depending on where you are at I 15 can be 4 to 8 lanes in one direction of travel. 78 can be 2 to 4 lanes (last I was there, probably widened it since).
So this Ranger slid across 4+ lanes of traffic, across a center barrier, into oncoming traffic and it happens to be a Freightliner? That's an incredible set of circumstances.
