Reposting from yesterday: The Institute of International Education, Inc. is listed as a tax exempt group by the IRS. They have gotten almost $3 Billion dollars from the USG; $2 Billion of that coming from the Dept. of State and with 2016 cough being the year w/the largest amount of money awarded - $400 Million +. On pages 158 and 160 (of 162 pages) of their IRS Form-990 their Budapest Education non-profit is listed. They operate in some interesting places as well - China, Hungary, Mexico, Thailand, Vietnam, Egypt, India, Russia, Ukraine, Ethiopia, UK, and Indonesia (page 150 of the 990). Interesting that Morocco shows up in the USAspending.gov database but isn't listed on their 990. Just screams stinky, especially when learning that they are in bed with USAID. Looks like USAID outsourced administration of their Fellows and Grants Program to International Education. From the IIE website:

"Beginning in September 2012, the Institute of International Education (IIE) assumed management of USAID’s Democracy Fellows and Grants Program (DFG), under a six-and-a-half year cooperative agreement with USAID’s Center of Excellence on Democracy, Human Rights, and Governance (DRG Center)."

And "USAID’s Democracy Fellows Program was initiated first in 1995 to promote democratic practices in emerging and transitional democracies by placing experienced DRG professionals within USAID. " That whole 'placing' sentence bugs me. A non-government, non-regulated group that operates in countries actively trying to subvert our government is 'placing' people that they have trained into government positions.
