New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft could face a felony charge and up to five years in jail due to his prostitution case, Florida prosecutors said.
In court papers filed last week, prosecutors said Kraft, who was arrested in February and charged with two misdemeanor counts of soliciting prostitution at a Jupiter, Florida, massage parlor, committed a third-degree felony, the Florida Sun-Sentinal reported.
The felony charges are possible if the prosecution wins its appeal. The felony charge carries a maximum of five years behind bars. Upgrading multiple misdemeanors to a felony charge is considered an unusual move in Florida, the Sentinal reported.
