Not sure - usually the station chief would be briefed, but given dogface Brennan's character and personality, there is a good chance she was not briefed and kept in the dark since she might not have been an ally of Brennan. However it could also be that she was given vague specifics. If so then she would be in a good position to testify against DogFace Brennan.
