Maybe POTUS is trying to get us to look back and think of how far we've actually come since then. Morale gets low sometimes. Genuine anons do get depressed about not seeing what we might consider to be "major" happenings. Gets tough wandering around not knowing what's really going on behind the scenes.
Sometimes, we focus too much on what we want done, instead of looking back and realizing what we've already accomplished. Another year of everyone's lives about to be complete. It can be a depressing time for some as it is. Rather than focus on every little thing that we didn't get done, or what we want to see done,or what we still gotta do next year, or any of that, let's just be glad that we've made it this far.
I'm sure there's plenty more meaning that people will find, but I'm gonna take the cheesy way out of this one
