Putin thanks Trump for information that helped prevent acts of terrorism in Russia in phone call

Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump have talked on the phone, with the Russian president thanking his US counterpart for sharing intelligence that allowed terrorist attacks to be prevented in Russia, the Kremlin said.

A “range of issues of mutual interest” was discussed during the conversation, which was initiated by Moscow.

The Federal Security Service later said that the information provided by their US counterparts led to the arrest of two Russian citizens who planned terrorist attacks at public places in St. Petersburg during New Year’s celebrations.

The two leaders agreed to maintain bilateral cooperation in the fight against terrorism, the statement from the Kremlin added.

In October, the head of FSB, Aleksandr Bortnikov, revealed that contacts between the security agencies of the two countries have intensified recently, in cybersecurity and other areas. He said then that the US provided information about people who had been planning terrorist attacks in Russia.

Two years ago, Washington warned Moscow about a planned bombing at one of the main cathedrals in St. Petersburg, while Russia actively assisted the US investigation into the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013.

FISA Court Warned Multiple Times For Years About FISA Abuse and Yet Did Nothing Until Now Proving It’s Another Obama Corrupted Institution

The FISA Court was warned multiple times over the past few years about abuse and criminal actions by the Obama Administration. These warnings were ignored until the latest actions after the DOJ’s devastating FISA Abuse report regarding the Carter Page FISA warrants. What took so long?

After the FISA report the FISA Court finally took some action to address the rampant abuse within the FBI and DOJ that contaminated the Court. Jeff Dunetz reported at the Lidblog the following:

After the Horowitz report was issued, Judge Collyer, head of the FISA Court, ripped the FBI for the falsehoods used on applications to wiretap former Trump campaign aide Carter Page. The judge ordered the agency to go through their FISA warrants to find any other abnormalities and recommend solutions to prevent falsehoods from ever happening again, all by January 10th. But is Judge Collyer and the FISA court just as culpable as the FBI? The court was provided multiple warnings since 2016 that the warrant application process, especially in the case of Carter Page.

Dunetz reminded readers that the first warning the FISA Court had was in October of 2016 shortly before the 2016 election:

On October 24, 2016, NSA Director Admiral Mike Rogers told Judge Collyer of the FISA court that there were significant issues with the way the NSA was complying with its minimization procedures. This was three days after Judge Collyer approved the FISA warrant to spy on Carter Page.

Admiral Rogers ordered an audit of the FISA process and the results were shared with the FISA Court in October 2016 with the report was released with multiple redactions in April 2017. We reported in April of 2018 that the stunning April 2017 report covered results of an investigation or audit into FISA searches made by Obama’s NSA, FBI and DOJ during Obama’s time in office.

The report stated that James Clapper’s NSA had an institutional “lack of candor”. Also, the FISA Court Ruling showed widespread abuse of the FISA mandate. According to the report, Obama’s FBI, NSA and DOJ performed searches on Americans that were against their 4th Amendment rights. This went on for years. One paragraph in the report states that 85% of the Section 704 and 705(b) FISA searches made during the time of the audit (a few months in 2015) were non-compliant with applicable laws and therefore criminal.

For some reason this report led to little action from the FISA Court. According to Dunetz, in 2017, Landmark Legal Foundation, a Law Firm that has Mark Levin as Chairman tried to bring the issue to the Court. Then in 2018 Rep. Mark Meadows sent a letter to the Court asking Judge Collyer to investigate FISA abuses.

‘You Don’t Throw Stuff at People’: Multiple Cities Ban Throwing Snowballs, Threaten Fines

In a move which might seem asinine to some, several Wisconsin cities have completely banned throwing snowballs in public. One of those cities, Wausau, WI stated residents who throw snowballs on public roads, streets, sidewalks, and public property will be cited and face a penalty of a monetary fine if they wad up the icy substance and throw it.

Yes, that’s right America. The ever-increasing all powerful police state in America has determined that individuals are not capable of deciding for themselves whether or not it’s appropriate to throw snow balls at each other. Instead, the elected city officials have governed the freedom to engage in a snowball fight out of existence. Government apologists will likely contend the measure must be the result of one individual’s decision to abuse his/her snowball fighting freedom. Others will say throwing snowballs is a violent act and violence cannot be tolerated.

According to Newsweek magazine:

Wausau Officer Mason Hagenbucher said that children may think they’re only throwing snow, when in reality the snowball could contain hard ice or stones. Mielke said another reason for the ordinance is to protect the city from litigation.

Specifically, the city ordinance reads:

No person shall throw or shoot any object, arrow, stone, snowball or other missile or projectile, by hand or by any other means, at any other person or at, in or into any building, street, sidewalk, alley, highway, park, playground or other public place within the city

In other words, children who used to gather at the local snow covered playground to have a snowball fight are forbidden to do so, even though it was their tax dollars which paid for the parks. They’re disallowed from playing with snowballs. Such ordinances raise more questions than offer answers. For example, what’s next? Will citizens be allowed to make snow men on public property? Will they be able to sled on public property? If officials can ban snowball throwing, won’t they also be able to ban such long-held traditional activities?

Newsweek also reported Wausau is not alone. There are six other municipalities which have nearly identical snowball throwing bans. All of which leads us at TFTP to believe if the cities can get away with banning snowball throwing then they can probably do anything they want in the way of city ordinances.

“You’re not supposed to throw stuff at people, including snowballs,” City Attorney Tom Hayden, from the neighboring county of Merrill, who also bans snowball fights said. “That’s probably a good idea.”

The silver lining to these snowball bans, at least in the largest county of Wausau is that police haven’t enforced them — ever. The only citation ever issued under the ordinance in Wausau was for a case involving a citizen who shot another citizen with a bow and arrow and it crossed public property. So far, it appears that police are doing the right thing by refusing to enforce bad laws.

Not all citizens have been so lucky. As TFTP previously reported, kids in New York were held at gunpoint by police over a snowball fight.
