Anons, maybe it's because I'm from an east coast blue state, but we also have always had closed elections meaning you can only vote in the primaries if you are affiliated and openly registered with a party. In another words, I wanted to vote for Trump in the primaries so I had to register as a Republican in order to do so as independents or no party are not allowed to vote in the presidential primaries, only in the regular elections. What are other anons experience in less liberal states regarding primary voting? Is this just a liberal state thing?
