People tend to think the problem are the Dim politicians from other states and districts and not their own. They think their previous choice was fine and tend not to accept data to the contrary. They tend to send their own crooks back to DC unless they get caught in a big enough scandal to overwhelm their previous supportive thoughts and make it mandatory to reject their previous selection as unwise.
It takes a lot to get people to change their minds.
