Justice Rosenbaum relieved of duties following allegations
Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - State Supreme Court Justice Matthew Rosenbaum has been relieved of his duties, according to a New York State Unified Court System spokesperson. The Office of Court Administration was made aware of allegations regarding Justice Rosenbaum’s conduct, Director of Public Information Lucian Chalfen said.
The Inspector General immediately opened an investigation and the State Commission on Judicial Conduct was contacted, Chalfen added. The investigation could be referred to the Monroe County District Attorney. Rosenbaum loses his position of Supervising Judge of the Civil Courts for the judicial district, and his access from any nonpublic areas of the courthouse have been restricted. Rosenbaum was appointed to the New York State Supreme Court in 2005.
