My town on behalf of the Fire Department, sent out an email and robo call to join this service.

We encourage all residents and businesses to go to the www.____ .org website, click on Public Safety, then click on Code Red – Reverse 911. You can then click on Sign up Here to enter your contact information in order to ensure that all of the data in our system is accurate and current.
If you know of anyone who did not receive this call who lives in The Town of _ please encourage them to visit the Town of _ ’s website and enter their information.

Can someone here verify this is legitimate?
Does this have anything to do with the Presidential Alert System created as referenced in Qdrop 3705?
I found a couple references to CodeRED on https://qresear.ch that are related to the same system.
