See, I think vague explanations like this don't help.

I think the sentence you've used is thought-terminating.

Would it make more sense to employ less nuance? What if, instead of what you said, the people that edited the bible use ambiguous translations to throw you off a bit?

It's my guess the Vulgate made the most sense for goyim. Either way, the old testament is for and by hebrews and the new testament, although it's been changed a bit, is more of what you're looking for. Still, many alterations were made and entire books cut.
