Seems very rational to me. I've had similar thoughts. Winning isn't easy or guaranteed. Operators have died to get this far, more probably will in the months ahead.
But I continue to be surprised at the 'meh' level of [their] FF resistance attempts.
And I'll bet that Lucifer lied to his followers about being able to give them his own eternal youth elixir. Probably actually had them working on it at some point, so the "fountain of youth" legends could come from that.
