I got on here last night when I was distraught worry about my daughter being called into work because the hospital, she works in is full with Covid patients. I need to clarify the entire situation. MY sister works in the Ohio Veterans Home. They are extremely short staffed with Covid. She is working double shifts at least three times a week along with her regular hours. She is 60 years old. My sister in law just retired after 20 years in the Army and then went to work in a nursing home in Kentucky and she is working 12 hour shifts or more with very few days off because they are short staffed with Covid. My middle daughter just went back to work in a nursing home. I don’t think they are in dire state yet.
And, none of us think we deserve special treatment because of our ancestry. We don’t want our states in further shut down. It slowed our economy which is why I lost my job. But we have plenty of jobs I just have to find a new profession because I don’t want to drive 50 miles to work.
I added my name to one of my posts just out of excitement and frustration after reading person after person after person saying this is a hoax. This whole battle over this election has my siblings and friends at each other’s throats. I don’t know how Covid can be blamed on our president. And I will stand by my words. I realize I put my family at risk. But they are already at risk going to work.
I don’t know what can be done to help except in the Veteran’s Home. Maybe look into why they cannot keep people. It is a good paying job but few stay. The poor guys living there are confined to their rooms. This is the end of life for a lot of people. My sister and sister in law should be happily retired.
I love our president. Much of my stress is worrying about his safety until this madness is finished. And hoping my relationships are salvageable. I don’t vent like this in person because I am tired of arguing. I know the problem is Fox and CNN, etc. refusing to air the truth. The people who rant at me are good people, just blind.
