Kathy Griffin has married her partner Randy Bick in a New Year's Eve ceremony.

 

The 59-year-old comedian surprised her social media followers with the news just hours earlier by announcing that she would kicking off 2020 as a married woman.

 

Kathy tied the knot to her 41-year-old partner just after midnight in a ceremony officiated by actress Lily Tomlin.

It came just as Kathy's ex-friend Anderson Cooper was hosting the New Year's Eve coverage and ball drop in New York's Times Square, which she used to co-host until she was fired in 2017.

For the New Year's Eve nuptials, Kathy wore a recycled white dress with a black satin sash that was picked out by the groom.

The comedian revealed in a tweet that she had first worn the dress in 2011 on a date with Randy to see Gloria Estefan.

'I asked Randy to pick out which ever one of my long dresses was his favorite for any reason. He picked out this dress and showed me this photo. Romance is hotttt again,' she tweeted.

Taking to social media to share a clip of the wedding ceremony, Kathy told her Instagram followers: 'Check out an unedited hilarious and fun beginning to our wedding ceremony.

 

'Yes, that is the great Lily Tomlin as our officiant and you will enjoy her wife, Jane Wagner, chatting in the background.'

She added on Twitter: 'The entire ceremony was just under 14 minutes but I have to give you guys the uncut first 75 seconds. LOVE IT! We promised you atypical.

'We are in love and we cannot stop laughing. Thank you @LilyTomlin and Jane Wagner! #HappyNewYear'.

 

In her wedding video, Lily had the couple laughing as she officiated the ceremony, stating: 'What was supposed to be a shallow, suited and booted one night stand has grown and flourished into something far more meaningful.

'They stayed together and then they couldn't stay away from each other!'

Ahead of the ceremony, Kathy revealed the surprise, announcing on Instagram: 'Surprise! We're getting married'

The couple appeared to be walking through the foyer of their home in a homemade video captioned with a slew of hashtags.

 

'Tonight after midnight,' Kathy said, before Randy screamed: 'She said yes!'

In her true style, Kathy admitted that the nuptials would be 'very atypical' and 'very fun.'

'You're going to die when you see the officiant,' Griffin told her followers before the couple started dancing through the room.

As Bick attempted to kiss his lady love, she jumped back in jest: 'Oh my god you pervert; I'm a virgin. see ya later!'

 

The nuptials came just as her former longtime friend, Cooper, hosted the New Year's Eve coverage in New York's Times Square.

Kathy used to co-host the New Year's Eve coverage before she was fired by CNN in 2017 following the Trump severed head saga.

'For the record, I am appalled by the photo shoot Kathy Griffin took part in,' the journalist said in 2017. 'It is clearly disgusting and completely inappropriate.'

 

The pair fell out in the aftermath of Kathy's tweet and she has spoken of her sadness that he does not appear to want to reconcile. Kathy has also attacked Cooper's new co-host Andy Cohen.
