The suspect barricaded inside his home has surrendered peacefully. Fort Gordon officials confirm he is in custody and families are available to return to their homes. Fort Gordon Military Police have taken over the investigation.

FORT GORDON (WRDW/WAGT) – The Richmond County Sheriff's Office public information officer confirms the department's SWAT team has been called to Fort Gordon near Gate 1.
According to a social media post from Fort Gordon, there's a domestic situation at a home in the Gordon Terrace neighborhood on post. Fort Gordon Law Enforcement acted with protocol in calling the Richmond County Sheriff's Office for aid.
No one outside the home is in any danger, officials tell us, but surrounding homes were evacuated as a precaution.
