I've had a thought on this very thing for a few days now. What if Hussein or Kerry, or HRC or some high level person were in Iran doing illegal shit and got killed in a "strike" while there? It would put "them" in a very tough spot. They would want to use it as leverage against POTUS, but would have to explain why they were in Iran in the first place.
If they are supporting Iranian efforts they are traitors and enemy combatants, thus targets.
