FYI in chess, castling usually comes right before the piece exchange begins. My thinking is this:
White hats castle, hit the timer and pass the turn to Black.
At this point, the stage is set and Black has NO WINNING PLAY. White has set its defenses and mounted the assault. There is no way out anymore.
Think about how chess is so perfectly relevant to current events. POTUS has played 4d chess (the fact that plebbit, fb and others are all OBSESSED with "4d" chess is no coincidence) and now Black has no winning moves. They were DESPERATE for a mistake from white, and it didn't happen.
It was like Kasparov vs a random park hustler.
Now we watch it unfold like a play before our very eyes. It may look like Black is defending, but they are just moving their pieces one step closer to checkmate every turn they take.
