There are several sites on the web for looking into people networks of business/professional life. Some are left-wing some are right-wing, both are useful.

You can also start to built up their network by looking on corporate sites and seeing what Boards of Directors they are on, people like these are usually on more than 1. You can look on large sites that list charity organizations as well.
