The significance of Qassem Soleimani’s demise

Iran, January 4, 2020

The death of Soleimani caused a stir across the globe and filled the ranks of the Iranian regime with terror. Regime supreme leader Ali Khamenei declared three days of mourning for his regime personally attended an emergency meeting of the Supreme National Security Council.

In a statement, the SNSC described the death of Soleimani as a “great blow to the world of Islam.” Political observers and analysts perceive the demise of Soleimani as a turning point in the region and an irreparable blow to the mullahs’ regime ruling Iran.

The role of the IRGC in protecting the Iranian regime

By taking a closer look at the Quds Force, which Soleimani commanded until his death, one can better understand his role and significance in the regime.

The Quds Force is a branch of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), a military body that was founded shortly after the 1979 revolution with the sole purpose of suppressing domestic opposition and waging terrorist wars beyond Iran’s borders.

The raison-d’être of the IRGC is to expand the fundamentalist ideology of the mullahs through killings, terrorist acts, and hostage-taking. Interestingly, the IRGC’s full name doesn’t even include “Iran,” which alludes to its expansionist and extraterritorial mission. The heads of the Iranian regime and the IRGC have time and again stressed that the Guards do not confine themselves to the geographical borders of Iran and have globalist goals.

The Quds Force plays a very special role in the IRGC and is tasked with orchestrating the regime’s meddling in countries of the Middle East region, from Iraq to Syria and Yemen, and as far as the African continent.

In April 2019, the U.S. State Department designated the IRGC as a foreign terrorist organization.

Flashback: Democrat Senators Took Money from Iran Lobby Before Vote on Obama’s Nuke Deal — Iran Threatened to Out Bribed Officials

In May 2018 President Trump withdrew from the sham Iranian nuclear deal.

President Trump knew the deal with the Iranian mullahs was not working and not worth the paper it was written on.

This was despite former Secretary of State John Kerry working against the Trump administration to salvage the weak deal with the Iranian regime.

Of course, the Iranian regime was very upset with President Trump’s decision.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hossein Jaberi Ansari reportedly warned Western officials in May 2018 that if they do not put pressure on the Trump administration the Iranian regime would leak the names of all Western officials who were bribed to pass the weak deal.

Haftar-led Libyan Army bombs strategic Mitiga Airport

BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:00 A.M.) – The Libyan National Army (LNA) carried out new strikes over the strategic Mitiga Airport in northern Libya this evening, causing significant damage to the installation.

According to reports, the Libyan National Army bombed the Mitiga Airport to prevent the delivery of more Turkish military drones and equipment.

The reports said the Libyan National Army destroyed a hangar that housed some Turkish military drones that were recently used against the forces loyal to Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar.

At least 20 people were killed as a result of this attack on the Mitiga Airport, which is the last installation civilians can use to leave area.

This latest attack comes just two days after the Turkish Parliament approved a bill to send their armed forces to Libya.
