Summary:

CONTRACTS AND SUBAWARDS

A state, unit of local government or Indian tribe may in using a grant under this part for purposes authorized under subsection…use the grant to contract with local education agencies, non-profit organizations, excluding schools;

or units of local government or tribal organizations.

SERVICES AND BENEFITS FOR SCHOOLS

An entity that receives a sub award or contract may use such funds to provide services or benefits described under subsection blah blah and subsection blah blah (then it goes through a lot of strike this word, add this word, strike this name, etc)..

Include an assurance that the grant applicant shall maintain and report such data, records, and information (programmatic and financial) as the Director may reasonably require,

including certification to certify that the programs to be funded by the grant meet all the requirements, all the information contained in the application is correct and the applicant will comply with all provisions and all other applicable Federal law.

GRANT ACCOUNTABILITY - basically grantees required to show using the money prudently and affectively

AUTHORIZATIONS OF APPROPRIATIONS (summary):

$75,000,000 for fiscal yr 2018

$100,000,000 for each fiscal yr 2019 thru 2028

RULES OF CONSTRUCTION

No funds to provide firearms or training in use of a firearm.

NO EFFECT ON OTHER LAWS.
