LATEST snow graphs show heavy snow engulfing Britain over the Easter bank holiday weekend – threatening the country with the worst Arctic whiteout of the year so far.

He said: “Occasional wintry showers could start developing across high ground in northern and western regions really from now.

 

“However, more prominent changes will start to happen during the early to mid part of next week and we now expect frequent and heavy snow showers filtering in across many northern, western and eastern regions."

 

“This could surpass the recent snow events and bring some of the heaviest snowfall we have ever seen at this time of the year or at Easter.

 

“Again we could be looking at several feet snowdrifts, travel disruption and temperatures dipping as low as -10C (14F) or lower.”

 

The Met Office changed its forecasts for the weekend, warning of the "greater than normal chance of snow showers."

 

The Met Office long-range forecast read: "Showers will become more widespread for Wednesday, with snow for northern hills.
