But you really don't need it for this. They know who you are through other means unless you are VERY careful, which you probably aren't.

For now, the Space Force is just the management of our satellite assets. They commissioned SpaceX to launch some more stuff into space. This tweet is saying that this launch is the first one that they have done that is for the new branch. Before they were for the Air Force or NRO or whatever.

This would only allow then to execute a man-in-the-middle-attack. I'm skeptical that they would routinely conduct such active operation unless the VPNs themselves…… oh dear.

As I understand it, certificates are only used for authentication of session keys, which are random and swapped via Diffie-Hillman or similar. Getting this certificate secret-key doesn't help you decode passively intercepted communications.
