If Google, Apple, Facebook, and Microsoft are claiming this CLOUD Act (Clarifying Lawful Overseas Use of Data) is for
"appropriate protections for privacy and human rights "
then we automatically know it's for the opposite of that.
The Center for Democracy and Technology opposes the CLOUD Act on the grounds that it fails to protect the digital privacy of American citizens and the Electronic Frontier Foundation dismissed the legislation as “a new backdoor around the Fourth Amendment.”
