The company has expertise in the world of theatre, mainly due to the experience of the CEO Geoff Morrow who has been involved in the entertainment world for most of his life.

Box office gross receipts from theatre have nearly doubled in the last thirteen years and now amount to over £1,083 million in 2013 in the UK (according to BFI film forever statistic year book 2014) and an astonishing USD 1,370 million on Broadway (according to The Statistics Portal). A successful show can see vast returns but the key, of course is to identify which shows will be hits and which will be flops. It is in that area that the company believes it has a great edge over the individual investor.

Lord Michael Grade

Chairman

Michael Grade has over 40 years’ experience in the entertainment industry.

He became deputy controller of entertainment programmes at London Weekend Television in 1973, moving on 11 years later to become controller of BBC One and became BBC TV’s director of programmes two years later. In 1988, Michael Grade became Chief Executive at Channel 4, bringing the hugely popular American series’ Friends and ER to British television. He left Channel 4 in 1997 and has been involved in numerous companies including First Leisure, Camelot, Pinewood Studios and Ocado. Michael Grade was awarded CBE in 1998 for his significant achievements in broadcasting.

Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York

Executive Director

Sarah has presented programmes for ITV, BBC, and Sky TV in the UK and has been a guest presenter on Radio 2 and Radio 4’s Today programme. In the US, Sarah was special correspondent for NBC’s Today Show, and has presented television programmes seen on ABC, Fox, and CNN. Sarah is the founder of Children in Crisis, a children’s charity focused on education, care and protection for forgotten children in some of the poorest countries including Afghanistan, DR Congo, Sierra Leone and Liberia. She is a passionate supporter and patron to a number of charities including the Teenage Cancer Trust, The British Heart Foundation, Not for Sale, the Perfect World Foundation and Key to Freedom.

Michael Linnit

Chief Strategy Officer

Michael Linnit's career spans over 50 years having worked in London, Broadway, and Hollywood.

In 1970 Michael Linnit moved to New York to work for Ashley Famous Agency and in 1971 he became Vice-President of the Company, representing actors, writers, and directors in Hollywood.

Geoff Morrow

Chief Executive Officer

Geoff Morrow has been involved in the entertainment industry for approximately 40 years and is an internationally recognised songwriter whose songs have been recorded by world famous artists such as Cliff Richard, Elvis Presley, the Carpenters and Barry Manilow.

In all, Geoff has had over 60 hits around the world. He is an experienced businessman who has been responsible for setting up two record companies, which were subsequently sold to EMI Group Limited and RCA Records and has been involved in the listing of several public companies, including Oriental City Group Plc and Regal Cyber Group (now RC Group (Holdings) Ltd). He has experience in helping businesses raise funds and list on AIM, and ISDX markets (as well as their predecessors USM and PLUS)

Richard James Carter (ACMA, CGMA)

Chief Financial Officer

In 2002, Richard Carter graduated from Hertfordshire University with a BA (Hons) in Accountancy and began working as an Assistant Accountant for Mouchel Parkman Group plc, a London Stock Exchange listed engineering and government infrastructure provider, whilst studying towards his Chartered Institute of Management Accountants qualification.

In 2004, Mr Carter moved to International Publishing Company Limited (now Time Inc. UK Limited), a UK publishing company. As management accountant he worked closely with publishing editors to help drive revenue and reduce costs as well as developing and improving management information. Mr Carter also took on commercial responsibilities including new product revenues such as telemarketing, competitions and online subscriber acquisition plans. In 2007, Mr Carter left Time Inc. UK Limited to join AIM quoted technology and telecommunications start up, Avanti Communications Group plc. Mr Carter was responsible for setting up the company’s financial function, operations and processes and internal and external reporting procedures while moulding the company’s commercial strategy and working directly with the Chief Executive Officer. Mr Carter was also the Investor Relations Manager and assisted with fundraisings in equity, debt and high yield bonds. Mr Carter left Avanti Communications Group plc in September 2014 to set up Gate Ventures with the other Board members.

This keeps getting better. I am more convinced than ever that Gate Venture is 'the gate". Too many connections here, Hollywood, China, The Royal's, etc. for it to be a coincidence. Just discovered a connection to Bill Gates as well. Still digging.
