Yes they can, as long as the pilots remain in control and find a suitable place to land. Of course, if it ate a missile, that doesn't usually end well.

This plane was taken down by a missile. How often technical difficulties occur that burst airplanes into balls of fire and then fall out of the sky…and in Tehran right now with everything that is going on?
Nothing abnormal from this. Looks like it was in a sustained 250 kt climb, which is the max speed for airliners below 10,000 ft MSL.

That's not the livery (paint scheme) for Ukraine International. This is some other plane. Also, judging by the twitter video of it crashing, there wouldn't be this much left of it.
