obviously huge boring machines exist and iv'e heard of the nuclear type, but is there a pic of one? no. my feeling is that may be a cover story for how the already existing huge tunnels were made.
It's all speculation either way, but if you believe in the DUMBS and tunnels connecting them then the tunnels already existing would explain a lot.
