"Past Due": Court Declares Hunter Biden The Father Of Child In Arkansas

In a long expected order, Arkansas Circuit Judge Holly Meyer has declared Hunter Biden, son of presidential candidate Joe Biden, to be the “biological and legal father” of a child he fathered with former GW student, 29-year-old Lunden Alexis Roberts.

Biden has long denied being the father and has refused to support the child. He has also refused to turn over information on his assets, part of discovery that Meyer referred to as “past due.” It was obviously not the only element past due for Biden with regard to this child.

Roberts, reportedly was a stripper at a Washington, D.C., club that Biden liked to party at while in Washington.

In the order, Meyer ordered the Arkansas Department of Health to issue a birth certificate listing Biden as the father.

Cartels Continue to Build Cross-Border Tunnels to Smuggle Drugs

Sharing a stormwater drainage system with Nogales, Mexico, means that Nogales, Arizona, is a popular spot for cartels to push their contraband across the U.S. border undetected. The southern Nogales has about six times the population of its U.S. namesake and the city pushes right up against the border fence.

Recently, two tunnels were discovered in Nogales, bringing the Tucson-sector tunnel count to 125 found since 1990. In early December, the first of the two tunnels was discovered when U.S. Border Patrol and Mexican Federal Police collaborated for a routine sweep of the stormwater system.

The tunnel’s entrance was concealed in the floor of an existing drainage system by a pile of dirt; it was capped with a Styrofoam and concrete mixture, according to Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

It extended 10 feet underground and 20 feet into the United States, CBP said. At its exit, the tunnel was approximately three feet wide and over four feet tall.

Days later, Border Patrol found another tunnel about 50 feet away and alerted the Mexican Federal Police to check the location of the entrance from the southern side.

Both tunnels have been remediated with concrete filler, according to CBP.

Heavy Clashes Between Syrian Army, Turkish-Backed Militants In Northern al-Hasakah

Heavy clashes between the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and Turkish-backed militants erupted on January 8 in the northern al-Hasakah countryside, in the country’s northeastern region.

The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported that the clashes are taking place around the town of al-Munakh, to the northeast of the town of Tell Tamr. The Turkish artillery is reportedly involved.

“A Turkish aggression with artillery on the village of Umm Harmalah in Ras al-Ayn countryside,” the SANA’s reporter in the region said.

Sources close to Turkish-backed militants claimed that the army launched a small attack from al-Munakh on positions of the so-called Syrian National Army (SNA). However, this is yet to be confirmed.

Earlier today, two car bombs exploded in the Turkish-occupied part of northern al-Hasakah, killing four Turkish service members and several Syrian militants.

The ongoing clashes in northern al-Hasakah appear to be limited and very likely a response by Turkey to the death of its four soldiers. However, the situation may develop to the worse in the upcoming few hours.

Warren, Sanders Hosting Call With Pro-Tehran Lobby Group

Democratic presidential contenders Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.) and Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) are slated to host a conference call with an Iranian-American advocacy group that has been accused of lobbying on Tehran’s behalf.

Along with Reps. Ro Khanna (D., Calif.) and Barbara Lee (D., Calif.), Sanders and Warren are scheduled to speak Wednesday evening with members of the National Iranian American Council (NIAC). The group played a central role in what former Obama national security adviser Ben Rhodes called the administration's pro-Iran Deal "echo chamber," spinning journalists, lawmakers, and citizens.

The Democratic candidates' willingness to engage with NIAC—a group that aggressively pushed the accord and has strongly advocated against U.S. sanctions on the Islamic Republic—reflects their desire to see America reenter the nuclear deal, which released up to $150 billion in cash to the regime. Much of that money has gone to fund Iran's regional terror operations, including recent attacks on American personnel stationed in the region.

NIAC has deep ties to Iran's regime, including senior officials like Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif. Zarif worked closely with NIAC founder Trita Parsi, who, in turn, consulted with the Obama administration.

Parsi lobbied Congress against sanctions on Iran in 2013 and met with Obama administration officials at the White House dozens of times leading up to the nuclear deal's signing in 2015. Multiple U.S. officials and senior congressional sources informed the Washington Free Beacon that Parsi helped the White House craft its messaging as it tried to sell the nuclear deal to the public. The NIAC chief met with Rhodes, among other top officials, during multiple visits throughout the Obama era.

Rhodes delivered a keynote speech at the 2016 NIAC leadership conference.

NIAC was ordered to pay more than $180,000 in 2013 to the legal defense fund of Hassan Daioleslam, an Iranian-American writer, after a failed defamation lawsuit. Daioleslam had accused NIAC of failing to disclose its clandestine lobbying efforts to undo sanctions on Tehran, the Free Beacon previously reported. The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia said Parsi's work was "not inconsistent with the idea that he was first and foremost an advocate for the regime."

Sanders and Warren both supported the nuclear deal's passage, and have been among the sharpest critics in the 2020 field of President Donald Trump's ordered killing of Iranian general Qassem Soleimani.
