ā€˜Terrorism classesā€™: 11 suspects charged for seeking to establish ā€˜Islamic rule through jihadā€™ in India

An Indian counter-terrorism unit has named 11 suspects it says were involved in organizing religious courses which called for ā€œjihadā€ to establish ā€œIslamic ruleā€ in India, carrying out a wave of arrests in the state of Tamil Nadu.

The suspects ā€œconspired and conducted religious classes with the objective of establishing Islamic rule in India, through violent jihad and promoting unlawful activities,ā€ Indiaā€™s National Investigation Agency (NIA) said in a statement on Wednesday.

The accused were charged with criminal conspiracy for their role in the religious courses, and most have already been taken into custody as part of an ongoing investigation, the agency added.

Dubbed the ā€œAnsarullah caseā€ ā€“ or ā€œSupporters of Godā€ in Arabic ā€“ the probe was first opened last July, when investigators uncovered a burgeoning terror cell with links to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The cell proselytized a violent message through courses on how to wage ā€œjihadā€ and create an Islamic ā€œcaliphate.ā€ The group was also thought to have collected funds to finance a terror operation in India.

Police raids in both India and the UAE last year led to the arrest of 16 suspects, five of which were thought to have ties to the notorious Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) terrorist outfit. It is unclear whether any of the 11 named in Wednesdayā€™s charge sheet were affiliated with any other known militant groups.

Come Home, America: Stop Policing the Globe and Put an End to Wars-Without-End

ā€œLet us resolve that never again will we send the precious young blood of this country to die trying to prop up a corrupt military dictatorship abroad. This is also the time to turn away from excessive preoccupation overseas to the rebuilding of our own nation. America must be restored to a proper role in the world. But we can do that only through the recovery of confidence in ourselvesā€¦. together we will call America home to the ideals that nourished us from the beginning. From secrecy and deception in high places; come home, America. From military spending so wasteful that it weakens our nation; come home, America.ā€ā€”George S. McGovern, former Senator and presidential candidate

I agree wholeheartedly with George S. McGovern, a former Senator and presidential candidate who opposed the Vietnam War, about one thing: I'm sick of old men dreaming up wars for young men to die in.

Itā€™s time to bring our troops home.

Bring them home from Somalia, Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria. Bring them home from Germany, South Korea and Japan. Bring them home from Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Oman. Bring them home from Niger, Chad and Mali. Bring them home from Turkey, the Philippines, and northern Australia.

Thatā€™s not whatā€™s going to happen, of course.

The U.S. military reportedly has more than 1.3 million men and women on active duty, with more than 200,000 of them stationed overseas in nearly every country in the world. Those numbers are likely significantly higher in keeping with the Pentagonā€™s policy of not fully disclosing where and how many troops are deployed for the sake of ā€œoperational security and denying the enemy any advantage.ā€ As investigative journalist David Vine explains, ā€œAlthough few Americans realize it, the United States likely has more bases in foreign lands than any other people, nation, or empire in history.ā€

Donā€™t fall for the propaganda, though: Americaā€™s military forces arenā€™t being deployed abroad to protect our freedoms here at home. Rather, theyā€™re being used to guard oil fields, build foreign infrastructure and protect the financial interests of the corporate elite. In fact, the United States military spends about $81 billion a year just to protect oil supplies around the world.

The reach of Americaā€™s military empire includes close to 800 bases in as many as 160 countries, operated at a cost of more than $156 billion annually. As Vine reports, ā€œEven US military resorts and recreation areas in places like the Bavarian Alps and Seoul, South Korea, are bases of a kind. Worldwide, the military runs more than 170 golf courses.ā€

This is how a military empire occupies the globe.

Already, American military servicepeople are being deployed to far-flung places in the Middle East and elsewhere in anticipation of the war drums being sounded over Iran.

This Iran crisis, salivated over by the neocons since prior to the Iraq War and manufactured by war hawks who want to jumpstart the next world war, has been a long time coming.

Donald Trump, Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton: they all have done their part to ensure that the military industrial complex can continue to get rich at taxpayer expense.

New Cambridge Analytica Leaks Reveal Psychological Manipulation of Global Population

"We use the same techniques as Aristotle and Hitler. We appeal to people on an emotional level to get them to agree on a functional level.ā€

On New Yearā€™s Day 2020, Twitter account @HindsightFiles began posting documents from data firm Cambridge Analytica (CA) which expose the extensive infrastructure used to manipulate voters on a global scale.

More than 100,000 documents are said to be released in the coming months, revealing Cambridge Analyticaā€™s activity in a shocking 68 countries, including elections in Malaysia, Kenya, and Brazil. The Guardian reported that the documents come from Brittany Kaiser, a former employee of Cambridge Analytica who turned whistleblower and star of the documentary The Great Hack.

Kaiser told the Guardian:

ā€œIā€™m very fearful about what is going to happen in the U.S. election later this year, and I think one of the few ways of protecting ourselves is to get as much information out there as possible.ā€

The latest CA whistleblower has said the dumps will contain previously unreleased emails, project plans, case studies, and negotiations. The HindsightFiles twitter account has posted data on the relationship between Cambridge Analytica and John Bolton, former National Security Adviser to the Trump administration. In 2013, the John Bolton Super PAC paid Cambridge Analytica $650,000 for voter data analysis and digital video ad targeting.

The documents provide more details on that relationship, including using psychographics to play on voters hopes and fears. Psychographics is a methodology which focuses on consumers psychological attributes. Research firms attempt to develop a psychographic profile on various segments of the population by studying personality, opinions, interests, attitudes, values, and behaviors.

Giuliani tells Bongino about new info he has regarding the Bidens

In the background of impeachment nonsense, political postering by the Garbage Party, and the 2020 election cycle, presidential lawyer and former federal prosecutor Rudy Giuliani has been steadily working to uncover Democrat-related corruption involving Ukraine.

In an interview with Dan Bongino Monday, Giuliani revealed new and interesting information he says he has discovered regarding Joe and Hunter Biden, who appear to have used Ukraine as a retirement plan.

In addition, the two discussed Ukraineā€™s involvement in the 2016 election as well as the activities of former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch, who claims she was victimized by President Donald Trump (the same president she worked ā€” with Democrats ā€” to undermine).

In commenting about the Justice Department inspector general report from Michael Horowitz, Giuliani said he thought it was good, but added he didnā€™t think the right conclusions were reached:

ā€œI do not understand how you can engage in that kind of conduct and not have the intent to harm the election, not have demonstrated prejudice and biasā€¦what they were saying is, ā€˜We hate Trump. We want to destroy Trump. We want him from becoming the President, if he becomes President, we want to take him out as President.ā€™ They lied. They cheated,ā€ he said.

The former New York City mayor also blasted fired FBI Director James Comeyā€™s reckless disregard for the truth ā€” just to ā€˜get Trump,ā€™ a man he obviously did not believe deserved to win the presidency.

ā€œComey knew exactly what he was doing and he liedā€¦And it would be a shame if he got away with itā€¦And we should actually expect a little bit more verification when weā€™re dealing with a presidential candidate,ā€ he said of Comey allowing an unverified ā€˜dossierā€™ to be presented to the FISA court.

As for the ā€˜black ledgerā€™ that was leaked in August 2016 resulting in the immediate resignation of then-Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort, Giuliani said, ā€œI have two witnesses who say, the guy who leaked it said, ā€˜Weā€™re gonna now destroy [Trump].ā€™ They thought they were going to take him out. They thought when they put out the ledger of Manafort getting the bribes, that that was gonna end Trumpā€™s campaign.ā€

NATO Agrees to Trump's Calls to 'Become More Involved in the Middle East' After Iran Missile Strikes

Addressing the nation following Iranian missile strikes on American military facilities in Iraq on Wednesday, US President Donald Trump said that he would announce new sanctions against Tehran and would ask NATO to boost its involvement in the Middle East.

NATO has agreed to US President Donald Trump's calls to get "much more involved" in the Middle East made during the latter's Wednesday address following Iranian airstrikes on US military facilities in Iraq.

The following phone conversation between the US president and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg featuring discussions on "developments in the Middle East", showed that the alliance admitted that it could play a larger role in contributing to "stability" in the region, The Hill reported while quoting a readout of the conversation.

"The President asked the Secretary General for NATO to become more involved in the Middle East. They agreed that NATO could contribute more to regional stability and the fight against international terrorism", reads the statement following the call.

The phone call was confirmed by White House Deputy Press Secretary Judd Deere on his Twitter account.

The major donation will go into a fire fund from his non-profit organisation Minderoo Foundation.

The $70 million fund is "designed to not only respond to the ongoing crisis and rebuild communities, but to establish long-term resilience by funding research into and applying new techniques in fire and disaster relief," the Foundation said in a statement.

"Through the smoke there will be hope."

Ten million dollars will be allocated to restoring essential infrastructure, hubs and community assets in areas ravaged by bushfires.

The fund will also bring leading experts together to develop a "globally relevant national blueprint for fire and disaster relief".

GOP Governors Do Damage Control After Approving More Refugees

A number of Republican governors are doing damage control after they approved more refugee resettlement in their states, including Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, and Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine.

For Fiscal Year 2020, President Donald Trump will continue cutting refugee admissions by reducing former President Barack Obamaā€™s refugee inflow by at least 80 percent. This reduction would mean a maximum of 18,000 refugees can be resettled in the U.S. between October 1, 2019, and September 30, 2020. This is merely a numerical limit and not a goal federal officials are supposed to reach.

Coupled with the refugee reduction, Trump signed an executive order that gives localities, counties, and states veto power over whether they want to resettle refugees in their communities.

To date, these Republican governors in 18 states have asked the Trump administration to continue resettling refugees in their states:

Mike DeWine of Ohio

Asa Hutchinson of Arkansas

Kim Reynolds of Iowa

Charlie Baker of Massachusetts

Gary Herbert of Utah

Doug Burgum of North Dakota

Chris Sununu of New Hampshire

Doug Ducey of Arizona

Eric Holcomb of Indiana

Bill Lee of Tennessee

Kevin Stitt of Oklahoma

Pete Ricketts of Nebraska

Kristi Noem of South Dakota

Jim Justice of West Virginia

Mike Parson of Missouri

Brad Little of Idaho

Larry Hogan of Maryland

Mike Dunleavy of Alaska

Now, after backlash from state legislators and counties, a handful of these Republican governors have released statements in an effort to defend their decision to bring more refugees to their states.

Gov. Hutchinson of Arkansas, for instance, released a series of answers to commonly asked questions to state legislators which was obtained by Breitbart News. In the memo, Hutchinson admits that refugees resettled in Arkansas will eventually be able to apply for public benefits, welfare, and social services.

Hutchinson writes:

What types of state social services are available to refugees? Refugees resettled in Arkansas are eligible to receive federal assistance and private donations for up to 90 days upon arrival in the state. These individuals are most often employed within that period. After that period, they can apply for the same public assistance available to any other lawfully present individual and are subject to the same qualifications and requirements, including work requirements. [Emphasis added]

Hutchinson asserts that Arkansas will likely resettle only 27 refugees for the year, but that decision is determined by the State Department and refugee contractors ā€” not Arkansas legislators.

Similarly, Gov. Bill Lee of Tennessee scolded residents and state officials who are opposed to his decision to continue refugee resettlement in the state, claiming that they have conflated refugees with illegal aliens. Activists opposing refugee resettlement who have spoken to Breitbart News have never claimed to date that refugees are illegal aliens.
