They did not have photocopiers back then, nor a lot of time to waste as they needed to scatter to stay alive, for awhile at least. That is why some gospels are longer or shorter, mention or don't mention certain things. Some things didn't translate or go over well in the culture they were traveling to so it is more concise like Mark. Thomas was not privy to the document and had to go by memory and consequently was dropped from the final edit of the holy bible.
