I'm not sure I would use the word "permission". It implies on some level that God is implicit in our sins. He graced us with free will yes, but that does not mean He allows us to sin, merely that He knows we will sin, but that free will has a higher priority. I may not be explaining myself as best I can, but I think you can see my point.

A belief that the universe is cold and uncaring, where everything happens by pure chance seems absolutely exhausting and life draining.
The alternative being Designed Creation by a Higher Power, should leave people to imply a sense of purpose, care, and meaning with hope for the future.
