Lyme disease is named after Lyme CT which was the place with first reported cases.

Lyme CT residence settled western NY during the gilded age, creating the town Lima, NY named in honor of their former hometown.

The methodists in this town created the Genesee College which moved to Syracuse to form Syracuse University.

Their mascot was the Orangemen.

All this meta data points to the Lyme, CT area being of Dutch influence, the Princes of Orange, and ultimately Vanderbilt.

Vanderbilt's first railroad ownership was the New York New Haven RR, putting all of CT in his influence.

Worth a dig. The circular meta data showing various points of influence by the House of Nassau in the region is worth the dig alone.
