40+ years ago, it was illegal to own more than a small number of TV or radio stations. I think the limit was 6 TV stations nationwide. The laws and/or regulations were changed in the 70’s or possibly the 80’s. I don’t remember when and I haven’t been able to find out. My autism isn’t strong enough.

Perhaps this would be worth a dig? Part of the awakening includes realizing the press is just as corrupt as the government. “How did this happen?” is an obvious question and an early step in designing a solution…
