"Two men from Orchard Park — including the owner of the Statler City building — are dead after a helicopter crashed in Pennsylvania Thursday night, according to the Cumberland County Coroner's Office.
Buffalo developer/restaurateur Mark Croce, 58, and Michael Capriotto, 63, were traveling from Washington, D.C. to Buffalo. According to authorities, the helicopter went down into the yard of a house in Mechanicsburg, Pa., around 8:30 p.m.
Croce was the owner of the Statler City complex and the Curtiss Hotel, and he was a co-developer of the second Emerson School of Hospitality. He also submitted a proposal last summer to add a third level of the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center.
The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash."
