I presume they run massive computer simulations. There are times when posting is necessary, other times silence is necessary. They have to focus their computing power on world events sometimes. Once an intended outcome has been selected, they have to let it run to the next milestone, and do the computations again taking into account the latest world data.

Having text to work from, and not having to research it but just lift the words from a file and massage them a bit to fit the format, makes the job straightforward.
