Why Rush Limbaugh’s New Contract Is So Important

In the cascade of attention swirling around the death of General Suleimani, there was another story out there — a very significant media story — that has a major impact for America.

It was a press release that began this way.

IHeartMedia Extends Partnership with Rush Limbaugh

New York, NY – January 7, 2020 – iHeartMedia, the leading audio company in America with a greater reach in the U.S. than any other radio or television outlet, announced today it has renewed and extended its partnership with Rush Limbaugh, the most-listened-to national radio talk show host in America. Specific terms were not announced, but the long-term, multi-platform agreement reflects The Rush Limbaugh Show’s decades-long dominance in the talk radio format, including increased audience levels and revenue.

Limbaugh will continue to host The Rush Limbaugh Show, which celebrated its 31st year in national syndication in August 2019. The program broadcasts weekdays from noon to 3 p.m. ET on more than 650 affiliates and can be heard by millions of listeners nationwide. Ad revenue for The Rush Limbaugh Show continues to grow, with 2020 marking a record-breaking upfront for the program. In addition to the popular Rush Limbaugh Show app, subscriptions to Rush 24/7 – the online destination for Rush’s premium radio program and digital content, as well as The Limbaugh Letter – a monthly print and digital magazine now in its 27th year, also continue to reach record levels.

Trump announces overhaul of outdated environmental law, predictable leftie meltdown ensues

“We want to build new roads, bridges, tunnels, highways, bigger, better fast and we want to build them at less cost”

While much of the media and the American public was focused in the Iran attack this week, President Donald Trump announced significant changes to the nation’s landmark environmental law.

The changes would make it easier for federal agencies to approve infrastructure projects without jumping through needless hoops set by green justice bureaucrats.

Many of the White House’s proposed changes to the 50-year-old National Environmental Policy Act have been supported by business groups that contend the law has delayed or blocked projects like laying out oil pipelines and building dams and mines, among other things.

…If the proposals are enacted, it would be the first overhaul of NEPA in more than 40 years.

The plan, released by the White House Council on Environmental Quality, would no longer require any form of federal environmental review of construction projects that lack substantial government funding. The change would also widen the category of projects that will be exempt from NEPA regulations.

“We want to build new roads, bridges, tunnels, highways, bigger, better fast and we want to build them at less cost,” President Donald Trump said at the White House on Thursday.

Virginia is the Gun Control Canary in the Coal Mine

“There’s one Democrat lawmaker who actually proposed to ban gun ranges”

While much of the country has been focused on recent developments in Iran, a tense debate about gun control has been brewing in Virginia.

Democrats have wasted no time since taking power, spurring a Second Amendment ‘sanctuary’ movement in numerous counties throughout the state.

If you want to know what Democrats would do if they could on a national level, look no further than Virginia. That’s a point recently made by Dana Loesch.

Talia Kaplan reports at FOX News:

Dana Loesch: Proposed ‘disarmament’ in Virginia is what Dems envision for America

National radio host Dana Loesch said on Thursday that the new Democratic majority in the Virginia state legislature is taking a “bad gamble” by trying to pass new restrictions on gun ownership.

“If they [Virginia Democrats] get this optic, this is going to look horrible for them in 2020, to say nothing of the precedent that it sets for gun rights,” Loesch said on “Fox & Friends” on Thursday. “This isn’t going to stop. Gun owners will win.”

The Virginia Beach City Council voted Monday to add the city to a growing list of nearly 100 cities and counties that have joined the “Second Amendment sanctuary” movement in the commonwealth of Virginia, which is meant to flout an assault weapons ban and other proposals.

The city council resolution declared a “continued commitment to support all provisions of the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Virginia, including the right of the people to keep and bear arms.”…

Christopher Wray Isn’t the Right Man to Fix the FBI

Trump needs to find someone else to reform this ailing law enforcement agency.

The nation’s most powerful law enforcement agency is in shambles. Following a series of internal investigations, in addition to extensive reporting on the misconduct of former top officials, the Federal Bureau of Investigation is suffering a crisis in confidence from the very people it has a sworn duty to protect: the American public.

Considering its behavior over the past four years, one could be forgiven for thinking that the FBI exists only to serve the interests of the political aristocracy. From the Clinton email server cover-up to the unfounded counterintelligence probe into four Americans working for the Trump presidential campaign and the corruption of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, the FBI has exploited its power to defend partisan allies and punish foes.

Texts revealed contempt for voters who make up roughly half the country. Rather than working to keep the country safe, the top tier of the FBI spent most of its time massaging their press contacts, accompanying reporters to baseball games and golf outings (in clear violation of company policy), and illegally leaking sensitive information then lying about it all when caught. The FBI’s former chief, James Comey, stole his own classified memos from the agency and hid them at home before he was busted.
