This article from 2012 sited in video claiming Justin Trudeau's brother made propaganda films for Iran before he joined Trudeau's campaign.

The other brother: Sacha, the 'apolitical' one, joins Justin Trudeau's campaign team

Alexandre “Sacha” Trudeau, 38, is taking a break from globetrotting to act as a senior adviser in his brother Justin’s campaign for leader of the Liberal Party

Nine years ago, Alexandre Trudeau huddled in a Sunni family’s Baghdad living room as missile fire rained onto the city.

There could have been a safer way for the second son of Pierre Elliott Trudeau to cover the Iraq War. But he insisted on being one of the few journalists to live among the people of Baghdad as their city burned.

Trudeau has made a career of living dangerously. Soon after producing Embedded in Baghdad, he joined a group of rebel fighters on a perilous trip across the Sudanese desert as the country sank into civil war.

Documentary work also brought him to Gaza, Serbia, Liberia and other turbulent destinations.

Now, Alexandre “Sacha” Trudeau, 38, is taking a break from globetrotting to act as a senior adviser in his brother Justin’s campaign for leader of the Liberal Party. It’s a move that may seem surprising coming from a man who, for years, insisted he was apolitical.

While producing Secure Freedom, film about the Canadian government’s detention of refugees, Trudeau drew national media attention when he offered to act as a surety for accused terrorist Hassan Almrei. (In the end, the terrorism charges against Almrei were dropped and he was freed after having being jailed for eight years.)

In 2006, Trudeau wrote a Toronto Star article praising Fidel Castro’s Cuba at a time when the dictator was an international pariah for human rights abuses. (Castro was an honorary pallbearer at Pierre Elliott Trudeau’s funeral in 2000. The Cuban leader and former Canadian prime minister became friends after Trudeau’s state visit to Cuba in 1976.)

When it Comes to Israel, Alexandre Trudeau's Got it Wrong

UPDATE: Also listed in Alexandre Trudeau's documentary "The New Great Game" as "producers in association," but not acknowledged by the CBC, was Iran's state-funded propaganda arm Press-TV, along with the reviled anti-Israel broadcaster Al-Jazeera Arabic, and the Media Education Foundation (producer of the anti-Israel film "Peace, Propaganda, and the Promised Land" found by CBC Radio-Canada's ombudsman to be propaganda that never should have aired). CBC appearing alongside Iran's hateful mouthpiece is damning enough. Did any of these producers provide financial, facilitation, or material support to this film that the CBC aired on national airwaves? Either way, CBC didn't disclose this matter to its viewing audience.

In the face of international condemnation of Iran's destructive pursuit of nuclear weapons and its repeated calls for Israel's destruction, filmmaker Alexandre Trudeau reports that Iran's atomic ambitions are for "defensive" purposes only, serving as an effective "deterrent" against Israeli "aggression" and belligerence. That is at least the way Trudeau framed the second instalment of his three-part documentary that aired on CBC's The National on October 14.

Entitled The New Great Game, CBC lauded Trudeau's film as a "special documentary for The National," with the film's proprietors and distributors listing CBC and its French counterpart SRC, as producers "in association." Trudeau's point-of-view documentary was described as investigating "how the movement of oil is shaping a new world order." In reality, the only thing "special" about this film was how it singled Israel out for exclusive opprobrium while downplaying the grievous threat that a nuclear Iran poses to the Jewish state, the U.S., and the world.

Trudeau continued to perpetuate Iranian victimhood and to present Israel as the aggressor by interviewing renowned anti-Israel activist Noam Chomsky who claimed that Iran's "strategic doctrine is defensive… What country in the world could have a greater need for a deterrence?"

>Alexandre Trudeau returned to China in 2006, keeping in mind his father's lessons. Accompanied by a young Chinese guide, he travelled to meet artists, entrepreneurs, villagers, young and old alike.

>His purpose was to understand China and the essential role it plays in the world, but to also bring an understanding of China to others. The writing process took nearly 10 years, as he attempted to paint a portrait of this country full of contradictions.

so he lived in China for 10 years?
