The Prince is attending the first of three days of official condolences. This morning he met with new Sultan, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said.

"On January 8 at a summit in Istanbul, the presidents of Turkey and Russia agreed to a ceasefire in Libya and Idlib and called upon the sides to implement ceasefire. The ceasefire has been in effect in Libya and Idlib since 00:01 [22:01] of January 12. From the start, the sides in both regions have tried to observe ceasefire, and, except for 1-2 scattered cases, the situation has been remaining calm," the ministry said.
According to the statement, the ceasefire is being closely monitored.
"Ceasefire in both regions is an important step to ensuring peace and stability by ending attacks, preventing migration flows and restoring normal life," the statement read.

Gender activists in Nakuru County have asked the police to conduct thorough investigations after a 40-year-old woman was beheaded and her breasts and two arms chopped off in a bizarre murder.
Ms Mary Njoki, who went missing on December 16 last year, was found murdered and her body dumped near Lake Nakuru National Park two days later.
The matter was reported at Bondeni Police Station but so far no suspects have been arrested.
“This is not an ordinary killing and police must conduct thorough investigations and arrest the culprits,” said Mr Dominic Kitetu.
“This country has a government and these kind of murders are increasingly becoming business as usual and something must be done to stop these killings of innocent Kenyans,” said Mr Kariuki.
“If the government was doing its constitutional duty, today my daughter Njoki whose future could have been of importance to the nation would be alive,” he said.
“God will heal your hurting hearts. What an unfortunate cursed hand that killed her. God is there and will one day punish the killers,” said Mr Hamisi Mohamed.
“We are very saddened by the death of our sister. We are now left with two sisters in a family of four. Those who killed our sister will never rest in peace and one day God will revenge for us at his appropriate time,” said Anne Njeri, a sister of the murdered woman, as she wiped tears.

The British government has issued a travel advisory to its citizens visiting Kenya, warning that terrorists might try to carry out attacks.
The UK government advises British citizens to be vigilant when visiting areas frequented by foreigners including hotels, bars, restaurants, sports bars and nightclubs, sporting events, supermarkets, shopping centres, and commercial buildings, coastal areas including beaches, government buildings, airports, buses, trains and other transport hubs.
Places of worship, it says, including churches and mosques, have also been targeted.
The warning has listed north eastern counties of Garissa, and Mandera as well as some parts of Tana River and Lamu counties as places British nationals should not go unless it is essential to do so
