NRA Handing Out 30-Round Mags in VA to Fight Northam Gun Ban

The NRA will be handing out 1,000 30-round magazines in the Virginia Capitol City of Richmond Monday as part of the fight against Gov. Ralph Northam’s (D) gun grab.

The NRA used a Sunday night tweet to explain that Magpul Industries — a renowned magazine and firearm accessory maker — sent 1,000 magazines to the gun rights organization in order to have them given out to pro-Second Amendment Virginians on Monday.

https://twitter.com/NRA/status/1216550061221588992

Monday is January 13, the day on which the NRA has asked its members to flood into Virginia Senate meetings and ensure that pro-Second Amendment voices drown out those calling for gun control.

Democrats in the Virginia legislature have already put forward a number of bills, one of which is Delegate Mark Levine’s (D) HB 961.

Levine’s bill bans “assault weapons,” “high-capacity” magazines, certain triggers, and suppressors, among other things. The bill puts forward a means by which “assault weapon” owners can apply for a license to retain their gun, but the trade-off is that their names are entered into a database.

Owners of “high-capacity” magazines, certain triggers, and suppressors, will have a grace period to get rid of the accessories/devices, after which they will face felony charges for possessing them.

Excellent Lengthy article and multiple embedded tweets with videos of

Iranian Protesters Refuse To Walk On U.S., Israel Flags; Attack Soleimani

Stunning images and photos emerged on Sunday from the protests inside Iran showing demonstrators attacking images of former Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani while also refusing to walk on American and Israeli flags.

The latest round of protests come after Iran admitted that it shot down a Ukrainian passenger plane last week, which killed all 176 people on board, after falsely claiming for several days that they were not responsible for what happened.

BBC reporter Ali Hamedani tweeted a video that showed student protesters refusing to walk on a giant American and Israeli flag that were painted on the ground, writing, “At the height of the Iranian establishment anti Americanism, Tehran Beheshti university’s students refused walking over the US and Israel flag while participating in #IranProtests. They all grew up to hate the two countries but seems like the revolutionary ideology is failed.”

Is This a Funeral or a Rally? 'Top Democratic Candidate' Joe Biden Can’t Fill a Living Room in Iowa

Joe Biden is the current leader in the Democratic primaries.

The first vote — the Iowa caucus – is less than one month away.

But Democrats are having a hard time this year. Besides all of their insane, job-killing, America-hating policies, they are also lacking in energy.

Here is a look at Joe Biden’s latest rally in Clinton, Iowa on Satuday.

Is is a funeral or a rally?

There were 11 people in that room!

Trump administration rolls back Obama era 'joint employer' rule

The White House has formally rolled back one of the Obama administration's most ambitious attempts to rewrite federal labor law to benefit unions, the so-called joint employer rule.

The Trump administration on Sunday said that businesses shouldn't be held liable for violations by other companies if all they share is a corporate brand.

The Obama administration had sought to make franchiser corporations such as McDonald's legally responsible for workplace violations by their franchisees, even if the latter were legally independent businesses. The previous administration based this on the theory that a corporation was a "joint employer" with the other company even if the former only had "indirect control" over the latter company's policies.

Trump administration has been working to roll back the "joint employer" rule since President Trump took office. The Labor Department on Sunday issued an official rule that corporations were only liable when they had "direct control" over the other company's policies. The administration clarified that to be joint employers, both businesses had to be able to: hire or fire an employee; have control over their work schedule; control the workers' pay; and maintain the workers' employment records.

"This final rule furthers President Trump’s successful, government-wide effort to address regulations that hinder the American economy and to promote economic growth,” said Labor Secretary Eugene Scalia. The rule will go into effect in 60 days.

Business groups had staunchly opposed the Obama administration effort, saying it would push many corporations out of franchising altogether rather than risk the additional liability. Unions had cheered the Obama rule since it made corporations more vulnerable to pressure campaigns and organizing efforts.

The Trump administration said the Obama administration's "indirect control" standard was far too vague.

"The changes in this final rule break down barriers that keep companies from constructively overseeing, guiding, and helping their business partners,” said DOL Wage and Hour Division Administrator Cheryl Stanton.

The National Labor Relations Board, the main federal labor law enforcement agency, late last year, settled a long-running "joint employer" case against McDonald's Corporation by announcing the company was not a joint employer with its franchise restaurants. The case had been launched in 2013 by the Obama administration.

Kerry deflects question about why he released money to Iran, accused Trump of 'lies'

Former Secretary of State John Kerry faced a question about his role in releasing billions of dollars to Iran during the Obama administration and responded by first attacking President Trump’s criticism of the move.

President Trump has claimed that Iran’s recent aggression against the U.S. in Iraq was funded by $150 billion that the Obama administration gave to Iran. Kerry has insisted that was false, although in the past he recognized that at least some of the money – which was frozen due to sanctions and held in banks around the world before being released at roughly the same time the Iran nuclear deal was made – would end up in the hands of terrorists.

“I think that some of it will end up in the hands of the IRGC or other entities, some of which are labeled terrorists,” Kerry told CNBC in 2016. When asked by Sunday on CBS’ “Face the Nation” why he believed this was a worthwhile risk when releasing the money, Kerry attacked the president rather than answer the question.

“You know that the president's tweet is a lie,” Kerry told host Margaret Brennan. “And the president tweeted this morning, because I am coming on the show and he knew you'd ask me the question or he'd push you in a place where you did ask the question. You and the media, I think, need to call a lie a lie.”

Brennan immediately reminded him that she asked the same question in 2015.

Kerry continued, saying that what he meant was that “clearly some money from the budget of Iran is going to go to the IRGC.” He then said that, contrary to what President Trump claims ”his own defense intelligence agency in 2017 testified to the Congress that very, very little money actually went to the IRGC at all.”

Kerry did not explain his rationale for releasing the money at the time, before he knew where the funds would end up.

RINO Republican lawmaker in conservative red state of Idaho is now proposing to give illegal aliens driver licenses

Once again, a Republican is sacrificing his party’s high moral ground regarding illegal aliens at the altar of political expediency, but at least someone will be around to pick our food.

Idaho state Sen. Jim Guthrie is proposing legislation that would allow illegal aliens to “earn” driver’s licenses.

According to the Idaho State Journal, there are, at least, some strict requirements. The illegal immigrant must undergo the same driving requirements as citizens, but would instead be required to renew their licenses every year.

Also, the licenses could not be used for voting ID purposes or buying liquor.

So what’s the catch? Guthrie says the legislation would allow Idaho to attract more agricultural workers.

“We have undocumented aliens in the country, and that’s a given,” Guthrie told the State Journal. “Until the federal government decides to address the illegal alien situation, (the proposed legislation) gives us the opportunity to maximize that workforce while they’re here, because they’re here anyway and driving anyway.”

Guthrie says he has heard from constituents, many of whom are farmers. They say they haven’t been able to attract enough drivers to move their produce to market, let alone find enough people to pick it. Also, he says constituents are concerned that illegals are driving to and from their farms without licenses.

“One of the responsibilities of the Legislature is to be responsive to the needs of constituents, and I’m hearing a very considerable need for this from my constituents,” Guthrie said. “I genuinely think it will help agriculture, and I’m getting a receptive ear on the issue.”

The Idaho Dairymen’s Association is all-in as well, helping the senator craft the legislation, even.

“I think it’s way beyond dairy and way beyond agriculture. I think it has impacts on all of society collectively,” Idaho Dairymen’s Association Bob Naerebout said.

“Quite frankly, if you take the time to look at (the issue) you should be supportive. You should be supportive of the fact that if we have people driving on the roads, they should be properly educated and trained to drive. We want people on the roads who have insurance,” he added.

Unreal.

So, what else can Republicans do along with Democrats to accommodate people who have broken our laws to get into our country in the first place? And what makes these people believe that legitimizing the transportation mode of an illegal alien isn’t going to come with negative connotations to Idaho and other states?

What else can we do to encourage more people to break into our country, other than make the effort bipartisan? How else can we keep wages artificially lower and take job opportunities away from more Americans?

If Guthrie’s legislation passes, it will serve as a model (and excuse) for other Republicans (and Democrats) in other ‘farm’ states to do the same thing. So while these idiots complain that the Trump administration isn’t ‘doing enough’ to secure the border, they will be working against his efforts by passing legislation that will attract more illegal aliens.

==It Begins: Virginia Democrats Ban Guns in State Capitol – Legislators Exempt

Virginia Democrats have passed their first gun ban.==

Virginia Democrats voted to ban guns in both the State Capitol building and legislative offices Friday, in the first of many expected moves to suppress the 2nd Amendment across the Commonwealth.

The vote caused an uproar among elected officials and constituents alike as just a handful of legislators – members of the Democrat-dominated Joint Rules Committee – were permitted to cast votes.

“You would think that the elected representatives of the people would be the ones who pass this policy,” said House Minority Leader Todd Gilbert.

“The Joint Rules Committee, which is just a handful of people, has passed this rule.”

State Senator Amanda Chase joined Gilbert in outspoken opposition to the party-line vote, saying the battle to preserve gun rights is not “Republican versus Democrat” but “American versus un-American.”

Chase, who built a large following in recent months as an unapologetic gun-toting legislator, is known for regularly carrying a sidearm to work, having both open and concealed carried her .38 caliber handgun on the Senate floor.

“The Democrats are liars,” Chase said. “They say they are for women, but they will not allow us to protect ourselves.”

House Democrats tried to pawn the action off on Capitol Police, claiming the ban came amidst recommendations from law enforcement.

“This is something that has been recommended by our Capitol Police,” said House Majority Leader Charniele Herring, a Democrat from Alexandria.

“There are times when we sort of have to trust what our law enforcement officers are telling us.” House Speaker and fellow Northern Virginia Democrat Eileen Filler-Corn backed up Herring’s statement.

“Again, this is being recommended by Colonel Pike,” said Filler-Corn, referring to the Chief of the Capitol Police.

Despite the claims of Democrat leadership, Capitol Police made very clear that they recommended no such ban, and are completely uninvolved with promoting or recommending policy changes.

“Colonel Pike neither writes nor lobbies for General Assembly rules or legislation. He enforces them,” said Capitol Police in a statement designed to “clear up any misconceptions.”

While the new rules will not be enforced on legislators, with Capitol Police citing Virginia statutes prohibiting the arrest of lawmakers during legislative sessions, it will most certainly be enforced on private citizens, something Governor Northam and fellow Democrats have applauded, and are even looking to expand.

According to a report from the Washington Post, Northam’s office is exploring options for banning weapons in outdoor areas of Capitol Square, in an effort to suppress the VCDL’s January 20th Lobby Day demonstration.

According to organizers, the event could draw tens of thousands of attendees and is expected to be the largest ever, as the 2nd Amendment sanctuary movement has mobilized an army of grassroots gun rights activists statewide.

Columnist Urges Mike Rowe To Run For Governor Of California

(Now This we can all get behind, right Anons?)

Over the last couple of years, one thing has become very clear.

California needs help.

One columnist thinks TV host and hard work enthusiast Mike Rowe would be a great person to lead the state back to greatness.

Rich Karigaard writes at Forbes:

Mike Rowe for California Governor 2022

Dear Mike,

We met once, a decade ago when you emceed an XPRIZE event in San Francisco. We briefly chatted, but you won’t remember me out of the hundreds in the audience that included Robin Williams and Sergey Brin.

Many, like me, were impressed by your onstage charisma. As Forbes publisher since 1998, I’ve met many stars in business, finance and entertainment. Surprisingly few have a presence that is both magnetic and appealing.

Please consider the following as advice – a plea, actually – from a fan.

Mike, please jump in the California governor’s race in 2022. You’re the only candidate who can restore sanity and balance to California’s governance. And you can win. You are this season’s Schwarzenegger, Ventura, Trump.

California is cruising for a bruising. The economy is lopsidedly dependent on a shrinking base of major industries. You can count them on one hand: technology (but only tech that scales rapidly from startup to global footprint, along with the vaults of VC money to do so), biotech, entertainment and tourism.

Rowe has not said if he would consider it or not, but he is flattered.

FOX News reports:

Mike Rowe reacts to op-ed calling on him to run for governor of California: ‘It’s flattering’

Amid California’s pressing homeless crisis and exodus of manufacturing jobs, TV host and author Mike Rowe on Friday reacted to a Forbes op-ed calling on him to run for governor of the Golden State in 2022.

“It’s very flattering,” Rowe told “Fox & Friends,” noting that he had read the article but stopping short of throwing his hat in the ring…

Rowe said that capital gains tax revenues are a disproportionate part of California’s state budget and that homelessness was an issue.

“All [capital gains] are tied to real estate and the stock market. Those things are going to come down. When they come down, that money is going to dry up,” he said. “I mean, manufacturing is gone, aerospace is gone, banking is gone, energy is gone.”

California would probably be much better off with a guy like Mike Rowe in charge.

Let’s hope he considers this idea seriously.
