Kinda biblefag here. I have an addiction to learning. Found out about a few misguided teaching going on. Bible college teacher 1 said everything has a context. The main ways to properly understand is find the context and keep it within that. Who wrote it? Who was being addressed. ? And learning the customs of the jews and even the Romans helps alot. They had a different way of talking and wording stuff
For instance. Where 2 or 3 are gathered…. And binding and loosing have a CONTEXT. They were discussing church discipline. Taking a witness when you confront a bro with sin. What we decided on earth was agreed in heaven. All those verses is dealing with sin and how to deal with it.
They didn't tolerate sin. DON'T JUDGE ME movement is really saying "I don't want you to hold me accountable for my sin" they told them to have their own court in the church and not take it to the carnal system.
