Maybe he wasn't interviewed by the Special Counsel. Maybe he was interviewed by someone else at the Special Counsel's office. Or maybe he wasn't interviewed at all. Probably smirking because he knows Leahy's an incoherent tool.

I dunno about that. There is some strange stuff in the Omnibus Bill and then there are some state of emergency EOs that may tie in to discretionary emergency funds for global health crises (opioids coming through our southern border) and human trafficking (coming through our southern border). I can definitely see the argument that POTUS has some funds at his disposal that the Dems and GOPe didn't realize they authorized. Build the wall, Mr. President.

I'm in agreement with you, anon. I spent some time looking at various provisions in the Omnibus, the emergency funding drawdown request in the letter from POTUS to Congress, EOs, etc. I think there is a plausible argument that POTUS could use some of those funds for building the wall without it being an illegal expenditure. Plus who knows what else was in that horse-choking bill. Can't wait to see construction photos.

So….did he compromise his integrity and get canned? Or is he trying to say he felt POTUS was trying to get him to compromise his integrity, and hinting that he refused and that's why he was canned. I'm leaning toward option 2. Not saying REXT is correct, but that was what he was messaging.
