Context is important I think. At the time this book was written many in the US envied the Soviet Union. They had an excellent propaganda machine and it was thought to be just an alternative system and superior by some. (Bernie Sanders honeymooned there). This book showed the world that it was not what it appeared to be. It was supposed to be a revolution on behalf of the people but actually replaced the government of the Czar with one that was even more oppressive and brutal. Possibly the most brutal ever. I suspect that Veritas is making the comparison with the level of exposure. OKeefe does great work but also seems to over hype it a bit.
