You would have to assume that the impeachment trial is about FISA. It's not. It will come out in the trial if it gets there, but the articles state nothing about FISA courts.

Roberts is shitting his pants right now. He cannot recuse because the constitution is specific about the Chief Justice presiding over trial.

It's why Trump getting so many judges into the appeals court was so important. Many of these cases will be attempted to take it to the Supreme court, which would bog down the whole system for years, if not decades.

The appeals courts can keep cases from going to the Supreme courts..

Yes. And then the judge with the most seniority would become Chief Justice, which I believe is Thomas, and thankfully not Ginsberg.

Which would then open Trump up to appointing another SC justiceโ€ฆ

It's a lose/lose for them. Q has hinted that Pelosi delay was about Supreme Court.

Why do you think they released the FISA IG when they did. It implicates Robertsโ€ฆouch.

No where in the Constitution states the Chief Justice can recuse. Nowhere.

If Roberts tried to recuse, it would become a Constitutional matter, and would have to be hashed out through the courts..

Roberts would most certainly face impeachment then, which the left cannot afford.

It's a stick situation.

If you ever get in legal trouble, don't hire a lawyer. Go down to the library in the reference section and study the law specifically concerned with what you are charged with, and represent yourself.

One doesn't have to be a lawyer, to study the law.

I was facing felony trespassing about 15 yrs ago. Went to the library, studied the law like my life depended on it. Was a clause that if I was trying to protect someone from getting hurt, it's not trespassing.

I represented myself, was facing 5 yrs in prison, went all the way to district court. When I told judge my story and my legal reason, he dismissed the case.

Other person who was with me, got a lawyer, and had to do 2 yrs probation for exact same chargeโ€ฆa $5000 lawyer.

According to my understanding, the President has sole authority to appoint the Chief Justice, with input from the Senate.

The chief justice is appointed by the president with the advice and consent of the Senate and has life tenure.
