But a princess becomes a Queen when she becomes ruler, why not the prince being King just not ruler? Given the push for equality that seems to come from the elite, it seems their own system is standing on tradition.

Sorry meant to say a princess becomes queen when her husband becomes ruler…

I get the king queen rank thing, but originally females could not become rulers, only queens to kings, so they have changed things when they see fit.
