The Senate is not a Court where evidence is presented in the traditional sense.
I believe we will see the Supreme court wrestled into an actual court trial involving, potentially, all three branches of government. This would cause the recusal of Roberts since he is a material witness thus leaving a 4x4 scenario which could be split in its decision thus leaving POTUS in limbo or there could be a decision which favors one side or the other. If the Dems prevail it is back to business as usual and Pence is next. If the POTUS wins, well - all bets are off!
