I caution, here.
The democrats may be stupid, but the democrats are just the face of the deep state. The deep state has been doing this for a long time and does not fear voter reprisal. They have plans for how to introduce witnesses and evidence, as well as how to deny witnesses and evidence during the Senate hearings.
If everything was going to go hunky dory, then Q would not have started in the first place. Q started years ago because everything, including this hearing, has been wargamed out and what will be presented is factored in.
I'm not really sure what could cause the Republicans to flip against Trump so heavily in the Senate - or if there is some other stunt that could be pulled. I suspect there are also several democrats who would break party ranks on impeachment.
They think they have something - but whatever it is is precisely what we want them to have.
>But if you don't know what it is, how can you know we want them to have it?
Because that is how this game works. They think they have an angle or an edge up - and they don't. They think we are bluffing, and we aren't. They call our bluff and step right into a vindication of an argument we appeared to lose years ago.
Even now, they are sitting in the middle of a race track, playing magic the gathering and acting like they have the boxing tournament in the bag. While they may have some good cards in that deck, and we'll humor them to let them show off their collection - no one in the audience came to see it, it's not going to win them the prize they are playing for even if there was no deck to stand against their own, and delightfully irrelevant to where they are.
The rights in the Constitution are not granted to us by the text of a law. They are a fundamental property of humanity which all governments are compelled by our created nature to recognize. The concept of rule of law is not rule by paper or decree, but that the power of nations - from their institutions to their citizens are bound to an observance of immutable rules - Law. Law is what secures our public and its interest in itself. Without Law there is no reason to trust, no reason to commune with others freely.
They can play this game all day and it does not change the inevitable outcome.
