Every action taken by the royal family has been geared toward handling an anticipated divorce.

  1. Harry quit his job, which will end his government income. His father has publicly stated he will gift Harry some money at his own discretion but that the funds are not entitled, guaranteed or endless. Harry has been told to earn his own money.

  2. Harry will abdicate, which only requires his signature. This removes his wife's title without her involvement, something that would otherwise potentially be retained after a divorce as it was with Princess Diana. Harry's assets have likely already been moved into a trust or returned to the family and all that based in England.

  3. Harry and Meghan change their residency to Canada. Meghan has publicly stated that she will never return to England and will not return to the US until after President Trump leaves office. So Canadian residency confirmed for the divorce (not England, not the US). Recently and perhaps relatedly, the PM of Canada re-established the Queen's secretary government position in Canada.

  4. Harry has been shown on camera drumming up lucrative work for his wife from Disney CEO Iger, which appears to have occurred almost immediately afterward. Suddenly, Meghan has at least an equal income to Harry and it will likely be larger than his soon. This limits Meghan's chances to attach Harry's non-existent or irregular income or assets during a divorce.

  5. Myriad lawsuits against Meghan that are supported by her estranged family are also key. These tarnish her reputation and raise questions of her suitability as a mother. Her nanny will likely soon face the same fate. These actions are likely geared toward custody after the divorce. This will be the most entertaining part.

  6. After the divorce, Harry and William hug it out. The Queen (if still around) or King William re-Duke's Harry, who will have full custody of Archie and all is well.

  7. Meghan, well, maybe she should avoid so many small sea plane flights. And, kek, she thinks she's winning. This is such a beautiful setup it almost makes you like the English for a second.

Can I get a Divorce if I wasn’t married in Canada?

Yes, as long as you, or your spouse, have lived in Canada for at least a year. Divorces granted in Canada are based on your current status as a resident, not where your marriage took place.

Do I need a reason to get a Divorce? If so, what is an acceptable reason?

In Canada, the only legal reason you need to be granted a Divorce is that your marriage has broken down. The law accepts that there has been a breakdown of your marriage if you can prove that you and your spouse have lived separate and apart for at least one year. In some cases spouses can be living separate and apart even if they abide under the same roof, but in this situation it is up to you to prove that while living together you did not live as a couple.

Also, a Divorce can be granted without the one year of separation if you can prove that your marriage has broken down for either of the following reasons:

Your spouse had sex with someone else after you married (adultery), and you did not forgive the adultery or live together for more than 90 days after finding out;

Or your spouse was physically or mentally cruel.

Generally it is not recommended that couples apply for Divorce under the 2 above grounds, as these Divorces tend to be longer and more costly.

Can you get a Divorce if you are not a Canadian citizen?

Yes. You do not have to be a Canadian citizen to be granted a Divorce in Canada. Also, it doesn’t matter where your marriage took place. As long as you or your spouse has been a resident for at least a year, then you can apply for a Divorce.

How is child custody determined?

When dealing with Child Custody in Canada our courts focus on one thing: The best interest of the children. Many people falsely believe that when a couple Divorces the children will automatically be placed with the mother. This is not true.

Some of the important factors that a court considers when determining custody are:

First and foremost the best interest of the children.

The parent-child relationship and bonding.

Parenting abilities of each individual.

Each parents mental, physical and emotional health.

The parents and the children’s schedules.

Available support systems of each parent (for example, help and involvement of grandparents or other close relatives).

Sibling issues. Generally, brothers and sisters will be kept together, but under some circumstances it may be necessary to consider separating them.

Care arrangements before the separation. Who was the primary care giver?

The child’s wishes.

So, divorce law in Canada is a federal jurisdiction, not provincial (not state-based) as in the United States.

This is enormously important when considering the Queen's unique relationship over Canada and the PMs recent appointment of the long dormant government position of Queen's Secretary.

"The best interest of the child" and "Family support structure" criteria will give Harry custody of Archie.

Keep in mind that voters in many midwestern states including Illinois do not register by party so there would be no record of their affiliation.

You simply walk into the polling stations and then say which party's ballot you would like in a primary.

These numbers are skewed significantly by that but still extremely impressive and should terrify Democrats.

each of the trump kids' significant others could be viewed as problematic.

in the case of kim, taking in her behavior, reputation and accomplishments over the past ten years, she is the least concerning.

judging people by who they are now is a better path and tossing up mistakes or associations from the past.

few can survive the latter and it is generally unfair. usually motivated to smear.
